"BetterMost Construction did an outstanding job on two recent bathroom partial-remodel efforts for us. In one bathroom, they replaced an old tub/shower combo with a new walk-in shower. In another, they replaced a cracked built-in bathtub with a new unit, which also involved framing and re-tiling. Their estimate was very reasonable, and all of their workers did a great job. "BetterMost Construction has just completed a substantial remodel of my kitchen, living, dining hallway, laundry, and guest bathroom areas in my house. I’m an economist and nontraditional financial advisor by trade. This was my first home remodel. I had very little idea of what to expect and sought more than one bid prior to beginning the work. What makes BetterMost stand out started at that very early bid-comparison part of the process. In contrast with another bid I received from a much longer established construction firm nearby in Rockwall county, the BetterMost bid was not only more comprehensive in that it included precisely all of those details, which I wanted the company to take account of, but it was also meaningfully lower priced, likely in the neighborhood of 10 to 15% of the total bid. I felt much more confident just in the bid process alone in that it seemed BetterMost and the company’s owner Tim actually cared about what I wanted done. Throughout the approximately two months long remodel process, that feeling was confirmed time and again. The contractor work is essentially exquisite. I requested a herringbone pattern using porcelain tile for floors throughout approximately 800 square feet of living space, which came out wonderfully. Given the complexity of a herringbone pattern and at BetterMost’s suggestion, I ordered more tile than would normally be required given that tiles break and mistakes happen. Even then, I had a significant amount of leftover material which I was able to return within the appropriate window for a full refund. I should note too how comfortable I felt with the various contractors coming by the house often times without my being present. The nature of my work prevents me from being home often times during working hours and feeling comfortable with who is in my home is of vital importance. To add to it, Tim, and all BetterMost representatives with whom my interacted, consistently maintained open channels of communication throughout the entire process, even when unexpected design or technologically difficult issues arose. This gave me the confidence that essentially no matter what sort of unexpected issue may arise that the problem would be resolved successfully in the end. What especially stands out to me about BetterMost was there willingness to consider my at times unusual design request. For instance, in the guest tub and shower area, I wanted to use a relatively new valve and diverter system from a well-known brand which required some complicated plumbing behind some rather expensive marble tile. Upon the original install, the plumber had not correctly link the various valves in the proper manner. Correcting the error was about as easy as correcting an error could possibly be. Without my even having to raise the question, BetterMost assured me that any cost involved to correct the error would be covered, and that ultimately, the design I wanted would be the design embodied in the final install. And that’s exactly what happened. I’d have to sit down and really try to imagine how this remodel project could’ve gone any better. Of course, unexpected issues always arise this side of the Garden. But instead of these issues becoming moments of crisis, they became moments of something like demonstrated trust. Like with the guest shower plumbing issue, there was not a single moment throughout the entire process that I felt that what I wanted would not be done the way I wanted it and at a fair and reasonable price. I’m grateful to Tim and BetterMost for showing me what a relatively peaceful and productive relationship with a professional builder can really be like. The result is that I’m able to enjoy what feels like my new home without any of the negative feelings related to the initial work that it seems like so many experience when going through such a substantial remodel. Frankly, BetterMost is exemplary of the joy that it is to work with independent, honest, careful professionals, and I look forward to welcoming them in my home again soon."
