Henderson, NV - I believe I read that this is a design for a robot to plant trees to re-forest areas that have been clear cut or had severe fire damage.

I'm not sure what it is as much as I am sure it looks like it was built by Dyson. So, I'm going to say it's a prototype for a robot vacuum cleaner.

Bill got it right. I was thinking it was a planetary exploration device made by NASA or some other company or maybe a vehicle in another Avatar movie :p but clearly I was way off.

A Tree Planting Robot
This eco-friendly four legged robot can plant trees with the help of its long planting arm and the planting head. The legs reduce the pressure applied on the floor of the forest, enabling the robot to be smaller and move through rough terrain.

Well, it's big because it has a cockpit. The legs simulate an animal's gait and the arm smashes something. I would guess it is a land rover developed to smash the road flat so it can walk on level ground.
